Position Summary

The Assistance to Youth Engagement, Dialogue and Integration (AYEDI) aims to strengthen the existing structures and build new institutional and programming capabilities of select Youth Serving Organizations (YSOs).   IREX is conducting a Strategic Planning, Strategic Management (SPSM) Training for YSOs to build their capacity in planning strategically to increase and enhance youth participation. Youth participation principles are therefore integrated in multiple elements of this training, including but not limited to: organizational governance/management, designing/implementing programs, and providing mentoring and support to youth.  The Trainer, under the supervision of the Youth Director, will be contracted for a short-term consultancy - spanning a 9-day period - to introduce strategic thinking, strategic planning and strategic management to leaders of YSOs. 

This position is open to all nationals.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Strategic Planning and Strategic Management (SPSM) Training introduces strategic thinking, strategic planning and strategic management to leaders of youth serving organizations. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

·         Deliver the Strategic Planning and Strategic Management (SPSM) Training using prepared materials, including ensuring that each participant organization develops an initial plan for their strategic plan and management structure.

·         Write a brief report about the training, including analysis of the trainees’ feedback and potential areas for future engagement.

·         Ensure that the training is delivered successfully including timeliness and significant participation from attendees.

·         Ensure that the participants provide feedback in the training at the completion of the event.

·         Contribute to the final training report.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience working in high-risk environments or emergency situations
• Familiarity with Sudan cultural and historical context
• Demonstrated experience in integrating youth principles within organizational capacity building activities
• Experience in the design and implementation in technical education, with trainings and/or workshops in Arabic is required
• Experience in training individuals in youth development, experience with media and youth development principles preferred
• Excellent Arabic and English language written and verbal skills
