PFSCM is implementing the Supply Chain Management System (SCMS) contract for USAID as part of the Presidents Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). With offices in more than 20 countries and over 700 dedicated staff members around the world, SCMS is helping to improve the lives of people living with HIV/AIDS in some of the countries most severely impacted by the pandemic. SCMS procures essential medicines and supplies at affordable prices; helps strengthen and build cost-effective, reliable, secure and sustainable supply chain systems; and fosters coordination of key stakeholders.
Role & Responsibilities
This position is appropriate for a communications professional and skilled writer with three years of experience preferred and an interest in international development. The position will provide the successful candidate the opportunity to receive mentoring from a top-notch team and to learn about HIV/AIDS and international public health through the lens of supply chain management. The Communications Associate provides communications and knowledge sharing support to SCMS and strengthens the operations of the SCMS communications team. This will involve a range of communications and knowledge sharing activities including marketing and branding, internal and external communications and publications, use of electronic media in communication, event and meeting coordination, database development and maintenance, and administrative support. This position will include little or no international travel.

Specific Responsibilities
- Assist in the management of Supply Lines, the monthly SCMS e-newsletter, including the development and maintenance of publications databases and management of editorial review process.
- Write and edit web content and regularly update staff intranet page content including the staff directory by following up with new and current staff.
- Manage monitoring and reporting of monthly web metrics.
- Assist in the strategy, planning and coordination of events and conferences including materials production, and exhibit support.
- Liaise with and advise field office staff on communications protocol and projects.
- Coordinate design and production of publications, posters and other materials for web and print editions.
- Write and copy edit other documents and web content in various formats and to different audiences.
- Write and edit social media content for Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms.
- Ensure that all communications support and reinforce the SCMS brand.
- Respond to information requests.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting in meetings and scheduling, monitoring work plans, preparing budgets and maintaining/organizing central information and communications unit calendar.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree along with three years relevant experience required.
- Proven skills in Microsoft Office; advanced proficiency in Excel required.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work well both independently and within a team environment.
- Fluency in English is required; bilingual or multilingual ability in Spanish, French, Portuguese or Vietnamese helpful.
- Strong writing and communications skills, including writing for the web and social media.
- Ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail is a must.
- Self-motivated, flexible and able to work independently and as a team.
- Demonstrated administrative, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with database development and management
- Demonstrated computer skills and experience with MS Office package as well as graphics and web software.
- Experience and/or interest in international development, USAID and/or other donor agencies desirable.
- Must demonstrate personal attributes such as loyalty and integrity in addition to being determined and thorough, which is inherent in this position.
