The LSHTM Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) is within the Faculty of Epidemiology and Population Health at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, a leading postgraduate institution in global health. We are a WHO Collaborating Centre in Violence and Injury Prevention, and the Cochrane Injuries Group is based within our Department. We are a centre of excellence supporting the development and evaluation of public health and health care interventions worldwide. The CTU has an international reputation for its clinical trials, especially in the area of emergency care and our collaborative network extends to over 50 countries worldwide.
The LSHTM CTU is undertaking a programme of research into treatment of severe haemorrhagic conditions that currently includes the WOMAN trial in women with post-partum haemorrhage, the CRASH-3 trial in patients with traumatic intracranial bleeding and the HALT-IT trial in patients with gastrointestinal bleeding.
We are seeking to appoint an experienced Trial Manager with a broad range of skills, to play a key role in our current programme of work with particular responsibility for the HALT-IT trial. The post holder will work closely with the Directors of the CTU and trial management team to ensure successful completion of the trial. He/she will have excellent communication and presentation skills, together with the ability to organise and motivate others. He/she will provide strategic, tactical and operational management skills in the execution of the project. Previous experience in the management of clinical trials is essential.
The post is initially for 12 months with potential for extension. The appointment is available immediately and the salary will be within the range £35,661 to £40,499 on the Professional Support pathway grade 6.
