We have an exciting and challenging vacancy for an experienced administrator to be appointed as an Overseas Projects Administrator for a major research programme on HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in Mwanza and Moshi in Tanzania. The person appointed will be based in London.
The workload will be demanding, requiring a constant shift in priorities. The Overseas Projects Administrator will be responsible for providing proactive administrative coordination and financial management of the research programme. This will include drafting, monitoring and reporting expenditure on project budgets; arranging conference calls, meetings, and travel; organising the procurement and shipping of goods to overseas sites; and providing administrative and logistical support to the research team in London and Tanzania. S/he must have strong administrative, financial and organisational skills and an ability to assess priorities in order to manage workload and deadlines effectively.
The post will be full-time on Grade 5 of the professional support scale with a starting salary between £31,065 and £35,661 per annum, inclusive. The initial appointment will commence as soon as possible. Current funding is available until the end of October 2013, however the overseas collaborative programmes are long-term in nature, and further extension of the position is likely subject to confirmation of funding.
