The National Bank of Rwanda (BNR) is seeking to recruit competent and capable professionals in the following position “Senior Economist, Economic Analysis Division”
Duties and responsibilities
- Realize regular analysis of national and international economic developments in the interest of the Central Bank in the process of formulation and conduct its Monetary Exchange rate policy;
- Participate in computing high frequency indicators of dynamism of economic activities;
- Participate in drafting RPAD ( Research and Policy Analysis Department) contribution to BNR publications related to economic and financial developments;
- Participate in drafting of the BNR quarterly Exchange and Monetary Policy Report;
- Participate in drafting of the semester Monetary Policy and Financial Stability statement which is presented to the public by the Governor;
- Participate in preparation of working documents for different technical meeting on the issue related to the national and international economic situation.
- To carry out other duties as directed by the management of the Bank.
Academic and professional qualification
- Must possess PhD in economics with 1 year of experience or Master’s Degree in economics with 3 years of experience in economic research in a relevant position, strong quantitative skills, including being familiar with MS Excel and Word.
Important skills and competencies
- The candidate must be able to demonstrate strong communication, leadership, analytical and organizational skills.
- Fluent in the English language. The knowledge of the French language is an added advantage;
- Maximum 40 years of age.
