Job Description (Duties):
Our client is one of the world’s largest providers of products and services to the energy industry. With more than 60,000 employees in approximately 80 countries, the company serves the upstream oil and gas industry throughout the lifecycle of the reservoir – from locating hydrocarbons and managing geological data, to drilling and formation evaluation, well construction and completion, and optimizing production through the life of the field.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review & improve all the Logistics Processes of Tanzania in-coordination with the regional Logistics Mgr. and service providers.
- Setting and monitoring the movements transportation plan to Tanzania.
- Prepare and monitor the daily logistics activities process flow and create standard daily reports.
- Monitor the service providers’ performance against agreed KPIs.
- Weekly service providers performance reporting discussing the incident issues (exceeded KPIs).
- Monitor & control Logistics Compliance with weekly reporting of manual invoices, any compliance issues.
- Participate in building Tanzania Logistics Team.
- Participate in the weekly and monthly service providers meetings discussing logistics performance and issues.
Necessary Qualifications:
Education & Background:
- Logistics / business Admin. / economics or international trade Studies
- Computer Knowledge & practicing (Outlook, SAP, Excel, Web Tracking, Power Point, Word)
- Supervision skills (Organizing, leading, and controlling)
- High communication skills to Logistics team and non-technical people with persuasion capability.
- Self motivated and disciplined
- High interpersonal skills and can manage pressure on him/her and the subordinates.
- Time Management & Reporting skills
Experience:
- Not less than 5 Yrs Experience in Logistics (Preferred Oil & Gas & in East Africa), import / export from and to East Africa different ports, dealing with Freight Forwarding Cos. and customs brokers, good communication and experience with east Africa customs authorities.
- High level of Logistics understanding – MOT, Types of containers, customs procedure in East Africa, Documents & certificates required for East Africa clearance, Oil & Gas exoneration procedure, Customs clearance regimes in East Africa, know the liners Cos. working for goods transportation.
- Preferred to have experience on moving HAZMAT and being IATA / DGR certified is an added value.
- Understand the different kinds of Incoterms and the difference between each.
- Preferred to understand the definition of cycle time & Logistics service KPIs.
- Experience managing / supervising a team from different nationalities in remote locations.
