Location: Centre Ophthalmologique D’Isiro (COSI), Isiro, DRC
Contract Duration: 2 years
Contract Start: January 2012
Objective: Reporting to the Chairperson of COSI’s Board of Directors, the job holder initiates the Ophthalmic Centre, develops and implements the management structures, strengthens the management capabilities and prepares a local successor to assume the position of General Director of the Centre in two years time.
Main Tasks: •Develop sustainable organisational structures •Elaborate, plan and implement procedures to the strategic level •Formulate and implement Human Resource procedures, including training •Formulate and implement accounting procedures, forecasting and inventory •Formulate and implement procedures with respect to budget preparations and financial control systems, administration and medical services •Formulate and implement key performance indicators and regular management reports in administration, medical services, education, Community Based Rehabilitation, accounting and inventory control •Evaluate human resources and ensure that high standards of service are developed and implemented •Create, promote and maintain the hospital’s image •Ensure dialogue and internal collaboration; liaise with partners as well as central and local government authorities
Professional Profile and Requirement •At least five years working experience in administration or project management, preferably in healthcare (in Africa) •Proven leadership experience in an average business enterprise •Experience in team management •Experience in management of supply chain, experience in management of projects •Proven work experience in challenging situations •Language proficiency in French, Swahili and English •Ability to learn Lingala
