Job Description (Duties):
Our client Grofin is a Global leader and expert in growth finance across Africa and Middle East and is seeking to recruit result driven and motivated individuals for the Vacancies below;
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, lead and control the activities of the Portfolio Managers to ensure a healthy client portfolio through effective business support and credit control
- Ensure that the portfolio clients are appropriately allocated to Portfolio Managers to ensure maximum results
- Monitoring the performance of Portfolio Managers in terms of frequency and quality of deviation and Early Warning Sign reports
- Providing assistance and guidance in resolving client problems
- Ensure that Portfolio Managers develop appropriate and sustainable action plans ensure repayment and minimize arrears
- Monitoring performance against targets, and developing corrective action plans together with Portfolio Managers
- Continuously upgrading his/her own skills and knowledge levels
- Monitor and drive disbursements to ensure accurate projections and support performance
- Review/Verify the business performance and potential risks prior to the request for disbursement in order to mitigate risks
- Support the Portfolio Manager to manage potential risks associated with the release of funds by minimise risk
- Continuously upgrading his/her own skills and knowledge levels.
- Effective management of Funds available for disbursement to prevent delays, shortfalls and withdrawal of excessive funds
- Ensure the continuous review of all potential Risks as identified at time of approval and any newly identified risks
- Keep abreast of all government legislations and regulatory requirements which may affect the operations of the portfolio companies
- Maintain thorough knowledge of industry and economic developments and effectively use this to manage credit and market risks which can impact on
- Ensure and support monitoring the performance of clients’ businesses and the status of their accounts
- Provide expert intervention when client’s business is deviating from the financial plan, showing signs of distress, requires assistance to grow or the client requests assistance
- Provide guidance on effective business advice and support the implementation of business principles and best practices
- Monitor and drive the increase of the general well being and performance of the client by proactively monitoring and implementing strategies in all areas of the business
- Develop and monitor turnaround plans for clients whose businesses are in distress
- Ensure and monitor compliance with the collections policy and procedures
- Monitor arrears on continuous basis
- Discuss arrears with portfolio manager, client and Risk, and determine appropriate actions per client
- Ensure that all clients in arrears are actively followed up to ensure formal action plans are put in place to address
- Ensure all arrangements are formalized, reviewed and communicated to Risk for approval and monitoring purposes
- Ensure collateral procedure is implemented and complied to
- Ensure collateral reviews and values are up to date and ensure deviations are addressed as per the process
- Ensure formal quarterly collateral reviews are performed in line with the collateral procedure to ensure an accurate reflection of the Risk profile and address potential risks
- Continuously review the development indicators as prescribed and update on the system to ensure accurate and up to date information
- Evaluate and report on positive and negative impacts of the portfolio companies activities on the community, environment and economy for each of the impact areas and communicate to the Risk and Public Relations Departments for effective sustainable development reporting
- Maintain high levels of customer interaction and service to ensure client retention
- Manage and escalate and client complaints/dissatisfaction to ensure positive resolution and maintain healthy relations
Necessary Qualifications:
- Relevant qualification(s) in finance, accounting and/or business management
- Minimum of 10 years experience and expertise in SME/business finance, accounting or related, credit management or SME/business consulting.
- Preferably having run an own business or managed a small business for one year or more
- Industry and market analysis
- Be proficient with computers, particularly with MS office (including Word) Excel, Power Point and Outlook)
- Excellent English verbal and writing skills
- Financial modeling and structuring ,financial statement analysis, credit management, audit skills, loan documentation, and business consulting skills knowledge
