Job Title: Program Director - Food Security and
Nutrition
Location: Uganda (based in Kampala, with extensive travel within the country)
Overview:
CRS is looking for a strong team player with a proven track record in managing integrated programs in rural communities. The Senior Program Manager will lead a team responsible for enabling vulnerable households to improve food security and nutrition.
Responsibilities:
• The Program Director is responsible for managing overall program implementation including overseeing: program implementation, M&E and Finance management.
• Hire, supervise and manage a multi-sectoral team which will be located in twelve districts across the country.
• Lead team in the development of household and community level strategies for increasing food security, including improved agricultural techniques and quality food intake.
• Work through and in close collaboration with various government programs in place at the national, district and community level Along with key stakeholders, develop a robust food security and nutrition monitoring system
• Supervise a team which will be responsible for increased awareness and behavior change in nutritional intake
• Work closely with M&E staff and partners to ensure project targets are achieved and exceeded Responsible for ensuring that the program is implemented according to design, quality standards and schedule
• Produce timely, informative reports, capturing project highlights and challenges
• Monitor and manage expenses for the project on a monthly basis, ensuring adherence to budgets and compliance with donor requirements

Job requirement
Qualifications:
• Masters degree in International Development, Public Health, Agriculture, Rural Development or related field.
• 8+ years professional experience, with at least 3 years experience managing large donor-funded development programs, preferably USAID
• Proven track record in designing and implementing sustainable livelihood or nutrition programs, including programs serving persons living with HIV
• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with proven food security strategies, including increased productivity and yield
• Demonstrated ability in strategic planning and program management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience working with government and NGO local partners to implement high-quality food security, livelihoods, or nutrition programming.
• Demonstrated ability in proposal development, reporting, M&E and budgeting
• Strong budget management skills
• Proven ability to effectively manage people and to build teams; able to build capacity in others
• Sub-Saharan Africa and/or Uganda experience helpful
