Job Description (Duties):
Our client Grofin is a Global leader and expert in growth finance across Africa and Middle East and is seeking to recruit result driven and motivated individuals for the Vacancies below;
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build and develop a high performing team through embedding performance and coaching and modeling best practices at all times
- Discuss and finalize performance development plans and ratings for all staff
- Motivate staff and ensure that they are recognized through the GroFin recognition schemes
- Recommend reward allocation for staff, including bonus and pay increases
- Manage poor performances in line with GroFin process
- Determine and manage training needs analysis and succession plans for all staff
- Responsible for hiring staff with the assistance from HR. Ensure all vacancies are filled timorously in the local offices
- Responsible for ensuring the new staff members went through the GroFin induction process.
- Within the first two weeks of employment the GM will be responsible for discussing and formalizing the KPA’s for the new staff members
- Responsible for conducting exit interviews for all employee-initiated departures from GroFin with assistance from Human Resource Department
- Directly responsible for disciplinary action – initiate misconduct or incapacity charges, follow GroFin discipline processes together with HR and an independent chairperson. Build the case files
- Responsible for the annual business plan for each fund, aligned with the Group Strategy. Key element of the fund business plan is the fund investment and portfolio management strategy
- Report fund performance on a monthly basis with focus on key metrics and deviation management
- For in-country funds, report fund performance on a quarterly basis to investors and organize Investor meeting to discuss performance. Minute outcome of the meeting and distribute timorously
- Build and maintain professional relationships with local representatives of GroFin investors.
- Ensure compliance with Fund agreements, Fund side letters, ESG standards, KYC and Anti-Money Laundering measures
- Responsible for the annual country budget in accordance with the business plan, report on deviations and obtain approval thereof
- Accountable for achieving annual fund management fee income targets
- Ensure proper invoicing and collection of fees in line with agreed timelines
- Responsible for maintaining a healthy balance sheet both for GroFin and funds, including debtor management
- Responsible for strict cost management, reviewing all service provider quotations and on a monthly basis conduct detailed analysis of expense approvals, equipment maintenance, stationery consumption, telephone bills, sundry losses and staff costs
- Active involvement and accountability for making purchase business decisions within set limits.
- Provide clear direction to staff on the GroFin and Funds’ business objectives, translating and prioritizing into business performance measures at office level
- Understand and provide clear direction to office staff based on market analysis of target customer trends and competitor offerings
- Ensure that marketing materials are displayed in accordance with guidelines
- Brief staff on product and service updates and provide regular feedback on investment and business support performance
- Report regularly on client success stories and business
- Implement and manage GroFin’s client value management system in country
- Take ownership of the query / complaint resolution process
- Conduct quarterly query and complaint trend analysis and create action plans to prevent recurring issues
- Ensure all customer contact points in GroFin, including equipment are of high service standards
- Interact regularly with internal service providers to ensure fast and efficient service to customers
Necessary Qualifications:
- Economics, business or financial degree, MBA honors will be beneficial
- At least 5 years experience in a middle or senior management role
- Relevant sales and marketing experience
- Track record of deal origination & closing
- Strong local networks required
- Demonstrated entrepreneurship (within previous employment or own business)
- Strategic skills to align the local business to Group strategies
- Excellence in execution: local P&L management, cost control, driving for business results: “entrepreneurship at the local level”,
- Microsoft Office, in particular advanced Excel and PowerPoint
- Financial modeling and structuring
- Financial/management accounting
- Excellent to exceptional credit skills
