BACKGROUND
The Nelson Mandela African Institution Science and Technology (NM-AIST) has been established under Tanzania’s Universities Act No. 7 of 2005, and as part of a network of African Institutions of Science and Technology (AISTs) in Sub-Saharan Africa. The NM-AIST envisions becoming a World-Class Institution of Higher Learning dedicated to the pursuit and promotion of excellence in science and engineering, and their applications for economic growth and sustainable development in Africa. The NM-AIST endeavors to deliver and promote high quality and internationally competitive teaching and learning, research and innovation, and public service in science, engineering and technology leveraging on entrepreneurship for enhanced value addition to people and natural resources, with a view to stimulating, catalyzing and promoting economic growth and sustainable development in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has granted NM-AIST employment permits Ref. No. BC.10/87/012/J/88 and Ref. No.BC.10/87/012/J/84 to employ 18 staff.
Driver I - 1 POSITION
Minimum Entry Qualifications and Experience
Holder of form Four or form Six Secondary Education with passes in Kiswahili and English with Trade Test Grade II/Drivers Grade II certificate from a recognized Institution. Must have a valid Class C Driving Licence and working experience of at least three years in a reputable organization
Duties and Responsibilities
• Driving cars and buses as well as other motor machines
• Ensuring that fuel, oil, water, tires and the general state of the car has been checked before use
• Providing driving services to NM-AIST staff
• Maintaining log book for each and every trip
• Ensuring that the vehicle is serviced as planned
• Carrying out small repairs if the vehicle breaks down
• Performing any other duties as assigned to him by his supervisor.
Salary Scale - PGSS 9
