Purpose of the role:

The primary purpose of this position is to:

• Develop the maintenance strategy for both fixed plant and mobile plant equipment.
• Manage the Capital Process for Geita Gold Mine.
• Set and Manage Project Management standards.
• Set and Manage Work Management standards.

Accountabilities:

• Develop maintenance strategies for all the equipment on site.
• Ensure strategy is communicated and loaded into maintenance management system.
• Maintain maintenance management system.
• Manage the Capital Control Process.
  • Assist in setting up the capital budget on a 1 – 5 year horizon ensuring that the projects are at the correct level of detail when taken for budget approval.
  • Drive the approval process.
  • Compile the monthly capital expenditure report.
  • Prepare board documents.
  • Completed closure reports.
• Develop, implement and monitor Work Management Standards.
• Implement and monitor Work Management Standards.
• Develop and Manage Project Management Standards.
• Maintain Whole Life Cycle Cost Models for identified critical equipment.

 Desired Skills and Experience

Qualifications, skills and experience:

Education

• Grade 12 Certificate.
• Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification.
• Training in project management.

Competencies and experience

• Minimum 10 years (combined) relevant experience maintaining fixed plant and mobile plant equipment.
• Experience in running and maintaining Maintenance Management Systems (any experience in MAINPAC will be an advantage)
• Experience in management of capital.
• An ability to develop an effective working relationship across all levels of the organisation.
• HSSE and operations understanding.
• Well-developed time management skills as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to work as a team player and work towards team goals.
• Sound management, administrative, and organizational skills.
• Sound analytical and process skills.
• Proficiency in the use and application of the following software:  Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
