The British Council is the lead managing partner for the £7m+ DFID- BC funded Tanzania EQUIPT ELT Programme over a 4 year timescale. This new, high profile programme aims to support the Tanzanian Ministry of Education in improving the quality of teachers nationwide through direct teacher training in 34 INSET institutions.
The importance of English as a skill to support both individual and national economic growth in Tanzania is increasing and currently the British Council is the only quality provider of English teaching and teacher development.
This role will provide day to day technical and programme management of the DFID- British Council partnership funded Tanzania Education quality improvement programme ELT (EQUIPT ELT), ensuring successful delivery of the programme’s outputs.

Desired Skills and Experience
- Demonstrable comprehensive understanding of English Education Systems or Secondary level Education
- Practical familiarity with public education systems
- Knowledge of teacher training approaches
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Education or English sectors of which at least 3 years in a management & leadership capacity
- Undergraduate degree
