Development Production International (DPI) is responsible for Statoil’s existing international comprehensive portfolio of producing assets and planned field developments. DPI focuses on building business clusters and maximizing the value of our producing fields internationally.
In 2007 Statoil signed a production sharing agreement (PSA) for Block 2 with Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) and the Government of Tanzania. Statoil Tanzania AS is the operator with 65% working interest with ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Limited as a partner with 35% interest.
In 2012, 2013 and 2014 Statoil and its partner made the significant Zafarani, Lavani, Tangawizi, Mronge and Piri discoveries in Block 2, which covers an area of approximately 5,500 square kilometres and lies in water depths between 1,500 to 3,000 metres. The are estimated to contain around 20 Tcf of Gas-in-place volumes and mark an important step towards a possible natural gas development in Tanzania.
Statoil is proud to be the lead partner in the future offshore and onshore development of the natural gas development in Tanzania.
The Finance & Control department undertakes communication with internal stakeholders, reporting of internal data for management use, statutory reporting, budgeting for the block 2 license, risk reporting and controller tasks. Accounting and Accounts Payable functions are undertaken by central, corporate functions, and Finance & control in Tanzania has the responsibility of overlooking the performance of these functions.
Statoil is looking for a qualified Tanzanian National to work as a Senior Analyst Tresury and Payment in the F&C department.

Job description

  • Drive improvement in invoice pre-processing process
  • Performance of all AP-related tasks except those to be outsourced to CAP/Accenture – standard invoice processing, tax coding, vendor master updates, and follow-up/monitoring of open items.
  • Handle accounts receivables (outgoing invoices, collections/follow-up of overdue customer items, invoicing of interest payments, and posting of outgoing invoices) tasks – possibly relevant when the business begins to expand
  • Clearing of incoming and outgoing cash amounts – for bank accounts
  • Periodic reconciliation of bank accounts Clearing of other transactions, including vendor/JV-related
  • Ensure vendors are paid the right amounts, on time, and transactions treated correctly
  • Drive coordination between different departments in Statoil
  • Insure sufficient control processes to avoid errors or catch errors in time
  • Drive the implementation of the recommendations from the Corporate Task Force supervised by local CFO
  • Extensive corporation with Procurement to ensure correct master data in the procurement/payment process
  • Establish and implement cash forecasting to ensure correct balance on the bank accounts at any time
  • Follow up and reconcile corporate credit/debit cards
  • Reconcile and control travel reports and expense reports for local employees
  • Provide update to the Tanzania Risk Management system, maintain relevant business risks with updates and status on mitigating actions.
  • Periodically report on costs for departments and other cost control reports required
  • Assist License Administrator in establishing and following up license budget
  • Assist department managers in making and following up cost forecast for every department
  • Interface to Drilling & Well and Exploration Finance and Control staff to coordinate cost control

Qualifications

  • Higher education (University / business school etc.) preferably Certified accountant
  • 3-5yrs years of work experience
  • Excellent written and Oral Kiswahili and English Language skill
