The Tanzania Education Network /Mtandao wa Elimu Tanzania (TEN/MET) is looking for a vibrant, dynamic, education activist to fill the following post;- Post: Project Officer
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Education or Social Sciences with practical experience in project formulation and management, report writing, budgeting, monitoring and Evaluation
A Masters Degree, experience of working with Tanzanian CSOs and key Government partners and experience of working with a range of stakeholders will be added advantages.
Competencies:
• Competent in basic ICT Skills-Office systems, including word processing , spread sheets, presentations, use of the internet for research and preferably ability to use some data analysis packages;
• Good analytical , report writing, and communication skills in both written and spoken English and Kiswahili.
• Ability to express complex ideas in a clear , compelling and persuasive manner, and
• Good organizational skills and ability to deliver quality results on time.
Interpersonal Skills;
• Self motivated and a self –starter with lots of initiative and willingness to work independently with minimal supervision.
• A strong ‘team player’.
• Excellent and appropriate inter-personal skills.
Key Tasks:
The project Officer will carry out the following key tasks;
1.Project planning , implementation and management of TEN/METs Civil Society Education Fund (CSEF II) Project
2.Project monitoring, evaluation and learning.
3.Initiation and implementation of capacity building initiatives for TEN/MET members thus building their internal capacity to work on policy issues, lobbying and advocacy.
4.Participating in policy formulation, advocacy and implementation
5.Cooperating with TEN/MET Members and Staff in the preparation of TEN/METs policy briefs and statements
6.Preparation and timely submission of reports and correspondences.
7.Representation of TEN/MET to meetings , workshops and task teams when required.
8.Budgeting and management of funds in liaison with the Finance and Administrative Manager.
Salary and Benefits: Negotiable based on qualifications and experience but in line with TEN/MET Human Resources and Administration Policies.
