USAID/Uganda is seeking for a qualified individual for the position of Records Management Coordinator.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITIONResponsible for the management of unclassified records and correspondence. Serves as the authority on records and correspondence processing, controlling and retention. The incumbent stores, provides guidance and training in records management to Office Managers. The incumbent serves as the alternate Travel Coordinator and Roving Secretary.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSNOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
1. Education Required: Completion of secondary school.
2. Work Experience: Two years of experience in records and correspondence management. A secretarial background and experience with travel logistics are strengths.
3. Language Requirement: Level IV fluent in English language both written and oral communication.
4. Knowledge: Good understanding of office and administrative procedures. This should include general secretarial and office practices; regulations on unclassified correspondence control, handling and records management. Good knowledge of English grammar, document formats and layout, and mail handling are needed.
5. Skills and Abilities: Ability to analyze existing records management systems and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements to enhance efficiency. Must be able to explain procedures and requirements to USAID Mission personnel. Excellent interpersonal skills required. Must be familiar with computer software such as Word, Excel, Power point, etc.
