SENIOR MOBILE OPERATOR TRAINING OFFICER
African Barrick Gold’s Bulyanhulu Gold Mine in Tanzania seeks to appoint an experienced Senior Mobile Operator Training Officer. Reporting to the Training Superintendent, the Senior Mobile Operator Training Officer will be responsible to provide leadership and coaching to the Millwright Training Officer in planning and delivery of training and to provide support to the Training Superintendent in the development and execution of training programs. The work roster is six weeks on and three weeks off.
KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Ensure best practices are used when delivering training courses.
• Coach and mentor Millwright Training Officer in his professional development.
• Ensure promotion pathways are developed and implemented for our clients.
• Provide educational pathways that lead to international qualification.
• Make courses available and assessable to as many people as possible via flexible delivery strategies.
• Involve our clients in decision making process to indentify course requirements.
• Ensure no promotion bottlenecks are caused by maintenance training.
• Maintain training records for BGM employees attending the MTC.
• Deliver, develop, revise and maintain training courses for millwright trades.
• Provide input in the establishing of training calendars.
• Participate in the selection of new trainees to ensure the selection of the best candidates.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
Education Requirements:
• Advanced Millwright trade certificate from a recognised training institution.
• A teaching qualification from a recognised training institution.
Experience Requirements:
• Minimum of 10 years experience in the mining industry as maintenance supervisor.
• Advanced knowledge and experience in the maintenance of process plant equipment.
• Sound experience as a millwright fitter at tradesman level.
• 5 years experience in a teaching position or as on-the-job trainer.
• Computer literate: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Access
• Skilled in mentoring and coaching.
