Key Competencies Required for a Marketing Operations Role:
• Understanding and application of basic financial concepts and processes, in particular related to budget deployment and expense management, in order to be able to work closely with finance.
• Advanced Excel skills, i.e. going beyond the fundamentals, basic knowledge of macros and advanced ability to use Excel formulas and pivot functionality.

Field Marketing
The person will work closely with the [Country] Software Business Unit Executive to ensure all marketing programmes are delivered in alignment with the strategic priorities of the business. This role assumes a leadership position and is responsible to achieve aggressive growth into 2015 leveraging a variety of marketing mix elements.
The role requires someone with strong market management and programme management skills and an understanding of IBM’s software solutions capability. The person will need strong planning capabilities, good virtual teaming skills and strong business sense to lead cross brand and cross group collaboration within IBM.
The person will be responsible for identifying which market segments are most attractive and addressable.
Establishing priorities and developing recommendations to drive market segment performance.
Developing the Segment Marketing Plan including specific strategies and actions to create and capture value.
Building future quarter pipeline by managing the execution of current quarter plan activities, assessing performance, and executing the pipeline strategy within the defined management system.
Acts as an extension to the Demand Program teams in country. Requires a strong understanding of the demand generation campaign planning process and assists country team with campaign and tactic planning and execution. Tasks including tactic planning, data quality, project management and campaign analysis. Ensure all deadlines are met for on-time in-market delivery of campaigns. Ensure all planning information is complete to enable tracking of results. Review campaign results and recommends adjustments. Adheres to the marketing process, business controls and demonstrates proper application of the marketing tools. Maintains flexibility to respond to business stresses and gaps while keeping program execution on course. Strong pro-active communications to demand program teams on progress, issues and need for problem resolution.
