We are
looking for a talented young person seeking a career development opportunity
to join our team in an exciting role, which will push you to develop key work
place skills and experiences. You will be a highly motivated and self
organized individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills
in English and Swahili, and strong ICT skills including social media. This position is supporting
the Mabinti Tushike Hatamu! team, a ground-breaking program for girls-out-of-school,
why a passion for women and girls’ rights is key.

Main Duties
|
·
Coordinating collection of stories from volunteers and
APCs for posting on Facebook and website accounts, including ensuring quality
and frequency of posting
·
Track news from government, donors, UN agencies on women
and girls’ development and share through social media
·
Develop and lead media trainings and other workshops
for girls and volunteers
·
Lead the cooperation with media actors and mobile
operators for introducing technology in activities
·
Provide support to the Mabinti Tushike Hatamu! team in
using different ICTs, e.g. radio, SMS, social media
·
Support the team with gathering and editing case
studies and sharing them with Restless Development International
·
Ensure project activities (mainly in Temeke) are
captured through photos and social media
·
Participate as requested in meetings and events related
to our work
·
Assist with other administration related the Mabinti
Tushike Hatamu! programme
·
Uphold Restless Development’s policies and codes of
conduct at all times and act as a role model in the course of your duties

Qualifications
Experiences and skills
|
Graduate degree. Restless Development alumni encouraged

Essential:
Experience from
working with media and/or communications
Excellent social
media skills (Facebook, Twitter, blogging)
Excellent ICT
skills: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Wordpress blogs and websites
Excellent writing and
presentation skills
Confident in
representing Restless Development in meetings with partners
Fluent in English
and Swahili, written and spoken
Passion for youth
development and Restless Development’s mission
Desirable:
Experience working
as a volunteer
Experience from
working with gender equality projects

successful completion of the Communications Assistant placement, Restless
