The Manyara Regional Civil Society Network (MACSNET) is a coalition of civil society Organisations (CSO’S) that operates in Manyara Region that have dedicated themselves to undertake various activities in lobbying and advocacy towards poverty eradication and sustainable human development. Being established in November 2006 and registered in April 2007, the coalition has its main objective as policy advocacy and enhancing Good Governance at District, Regional and National levels.
The network intends to achieve the above objectives by building capacity of its members so that they can effectively and systematically engage with the community initiatives, facilitate policy advocacy initiatives as well as enhancement of good governance and accountability. Following that and in order to achieve its mission and objectives effectively, MACSNET would like to employ a qualified accountant to fill the position in its offices located in Babati town, Manyara region.

Reporting mechanism
The Accountant shall directly report to the Coordinator who will be responsible in supervising his duties, responsibilities and performance. However, in addition to the responsibilities stipulated in this advert other additional duties may be born by the Coordinator in any condition.
Remuneration - An attractive remuneration package will be offered to the right candidate.

Roles and responsibilities
- Shall be the main adviser of the organization in all matters related to finance.
- Shall review the organizational financial regulations and advise for any option.
- To prepare and compile monthly, semi annual and annual financial reports.
- In working together with other staff will administer all payments related to organizational projects.
- Shall keep all organization’s financial records.
- Shall prepare all monthly bank reconciliations.
- To prepare all individual project financial reports during implementation.
- To make sure that all financial ethics are adhered.
- Shall be responsible in all matters pertaining financing and auditing.
Qualifications
- Holder of bachelor degree in accountancy or advanced diploma in accountancy from any recognized institution.
- Working experience with a reputable civil society organization for at least two years.
- He/She MUST be competent with computerized accounting packages especially quick book – (this is a prerequisite).
- Must be literate in other computer applications.
- Must indicate a high level of accountability and integrity.
- Must be a team player.
- Who can work under less supervision.
- An experience of working with a donor funded organization is an added advantage.
