The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) is seeking to recruit a qualified, motivated and experienced Child Protection Specialist (Juvenile Justice) who will be responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of assigned programme/project(s) within the child protection sector, with a focus on programming to protect the rights of children in conflict with the law.
Responsibilities:
Provide substantive advice, recommendations and input in the formulation of country programmedocuments and f I plans of actions relating to the child justice component of the Child Protection program.
Promote the quality of rights-based Child Protection programmes through participation in the formulation of country programme goals, strategies and approaches.
Take primary responsibility for the development and implementation of the sectoral work plan in relation to juvenile justice, in compliance with the defined programme strategies and approaches.
Conduct periodic monitoring of programmes, including through field visits and programme reviews with Government counterparts and other partners. Ensure exchange of information and experience, identification of new strategies and courses of action to accelerate/improve delivery of services and achievement of Child Protection programme requirements and objectives.
Interact with Government and other partners, NGOs, UN and bilateral agencies in the different stages of juvenile justice programme/project implementation to follow up on agreements and recommendations.
Education
Advanced university degree, preferably in law or other relevant field.
Experience in the areas of social work, child protection or justice will be an added advantage.
Language
Fluency in English and Kiswahili
Work Experience:
Five (5) years of relevant professional work experience at national or international levels in child protection or child justice, including field work experience.
Experience of working in the UN or other international development organizations is an advantage.

UNICEF, The United Nations Children's Fund is seeking to recruit a qualified, motivated and experienced Operations Assistant who will provide range of Operational and Administrative support activities in the Sub Office of Iringa.
Responsibilities:
Analyzes and maintains an overview of the work of the' field office to ensure that timely operational support is provided in general and specialized areas.
Facilitate Payment of salaries, allowances, travel claims and other payments to staff members, consultants, vendors and other claimants; prepare financial data for budget estimates. and financial planning; provide inputs for reconciliation of cash books with bank statements; draft payment requests and raising requisitions for all transactions; Prepare the Supply Plan of the Field Office and manage supply related UNICEF support to partners as well as to the office requirements ranging from drafting of requisitions to clearance of consignments ..
Assists officers in aspect of accounts maintenance and budget control by providing reports on financial status, procedures, exchange rates, costs and expenditures', and potential funding problems. '
Arrange for and/or attends meetings on day - to - day administrative matters, participates in discussions of new or revised procedures and practices, interprets and assesses the impact of changes, and makes recommendations for follow-up action.
Assists in preparations of correspondence, special reports, evaluations and justifications, as required, on general administrative or specialized tasks that may be of a confidential nature within assigned area of responsibility.
Participate in the One UN common services meetings and se.nve as focal point in the field office for theHACT quality assurance activities.
Supervise two drivers including maintenance of office cars.
Qualification:Completion of Secondary education; thorough knowledge of modern office operational procedures and standards; training in business and management field at certificate level.
Work Experience:
Six years of progressively experience in operational arid/or management support,
Experience of working in the UN or other international development organizations is an advantage.
Language: Fluent in English and Kiswahili and working knowledge in both languages.
