Chief of party and technical specialists , Burundi

Chemonics seeks a chief of party and other experienced professionals for the USAID-funded Integrated Health Project in Burundi. The five-year project will assist the government of Burundi, communities, and civil society to improve the health status of assisted populations in the Kayanza, Muyinga, Kirundo, and Karusi provinces. All positions will be based in Bujumbura. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world. 

Qualifications for chief of party and deputy chief of party:
  • Master's degree in public health, medicine, business administration, management, or social services required
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in a senior leadership position working in HIV prevention, care and treatment, maternal and child health, family planning and reproductive health, malaria, health systems strengthening, quality improvement/assurance, procurement and supply management, capacity building, behavioral interventions, monitoring and evaluation, or operations research
  • Minimum of five years of experience in development, management, overseeing, or evaluation of large public health programs
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in program management and administration, financial management, contractual compliance, and monitoring project performance and costs
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to work collaboratively with senior Burundian government officials, donor organizations, and other key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Fluency in English and French required
Qualifications for health systems strengthening specialist:
  • Master's degree in health or social sciences, or related relevant public health degree required
  • Minimum of five years of experience implementing health systems strengthening programs in sub-Saharan Africa
  • Minimum of five years of experience in health policy development and dissemination, capacity building, professional leadership development, performance-based financing, procurement and supply management, facility renovations, strategic information and data management systems, or subcontracts
  • Minimum of three years of experience in management and supervision of a team
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity​
  • Fluency in English and French required
Qualifications for monitoring and evaluation specialist:
  • Master's degree in monitoring and evaluation, biostatistics, statistics, research methods, or other closely related discipline required
  • Minimum of seven years of program evaluation and performance measurement experience for health programs with multiple funding streams
  • Success establishing indicators and monitoring, evaluating, and reporting systems
  • Strong oral and written skills and proven capability to work collaboratively to support project supervision
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity​
  • Fluency in English and French required
