PSI Chief of Party, East Africa/ Southern Africa

PSI seeks entrepreneurial, dynamic candidates with significant technical expertise in management of HIV and reproductive health programming, social marketing and total market development for the position of Chief of Party. Duties and responsibilities include providing strategic vision to the program; donor reporting on project deliverables; managing highly-qualified technical and operational program staff focused on combination prevention programs that integrate HIV testing and counseling (HTC) and voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) services with targeted behavior change interventions; ensuring achievement of program deliverables; assuring technical quality of interventions; and overseeing partnerships with other organizations and government entities.

The Chief of Party should have significant leadership, management and international development experience; a demonstrated track record in successfully managing government relations; a commitment to capacity building; a strong interest in private sector approaches to development; and experience successfully implementing international health programs centered around social marketing and behavior change communications. Position is subject to funding and will be based in East or Southern Africa, country TBD.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Relevant graduate degree (MPH, MBA, MIA, etc.) • At least ten years experience managing large, donor-funded, public health programs • Demonstrated senior level experience in coordination and collaboration with a broad set of stakeholders, including multi-lateral and international donors and local and international NGOs • Extensive background and experience in HIV programming and implementation – technical experience with HTC, VMMC, CPP preferred • Prior experience in senior level management of programs in developing country contexts • Demonstrated experience working effectively with district, provincial and central level government authorities in developing country contexts • Experience managing large USG-funded programs; both in the field and through centrally funded mechanisms • Excellent written and oral communications in English • Fluency in English is required.
