AECOM is seeking a Chief of Party for the USAID sponsored CCAP proposal in Mozambique. CCAP is designed to increase urban coastal resiliency to climate change by incorporating climate change into their planning processes and undertaking adaptive measures in response to capacity building activities, performance-based incentives and public advocacy in targeted municipalities.
Position Description:
A resident Chief of Party (COP) will be engaged for the full period of the program. The COP shall be responsible for assuring that all assistance provided is technically sound and appropriate for the needs to be addressed and for adequately managing and supervising the work of all organizations and individuals engaged under the project while in country. Additionally, the COP will be expected to play a leading and substantive role in developing and implementing all activities; s/he shall be the lead person for the Contractor in liaising with USAID/Mozambique staff, institutions, donors, and client country partners to exchange information and develop professional relationships. S/he will make verbal or written presentations as requested by the COR to varied audiences. USAID envisions a COP with a climate change adaptation awareness/mindset and a disaster risk reduction background.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration or another relevant field or a Bachelor’s Degree and 5 additional years of experience in the below areas;
- At least 7 years of experience in climate change adaptation or other relevant field;
- At least 10 years of experience working overseas;
- At least 5 years of experience leading or managing USAID programs:
- Fluency in Portuguese and English required.
