The role
We are currently seeking a talented Resident Engineer to manage and supervise one of our urban road and infrastructure constriction supervision projects in Tanzania. This is a senior role and will involve leading or assisting with the project management and overseeing all technical and administrative aspects of the project.
You will:
- Direct project team members and provide guidance and technical advice.
- Review the design and contract documents and advise the Client of any deficiencies.
- Take necessary measures in order to enable the contract to be completed in a timely and cost effective manner.
- Prepare monthly progress reports.
- Perform regular inspection of the works
- Institute quality control and quality assurance measures.
- Check project deliverables, including drawings, reports, analysis and studies by others in relation to the agreed project deliverables.
- Carry out any other duties as assigned by your Supervisor.
Suitable applicants will hold:
- 15+ years' of practical experience in road and infrastructure management, preferably in an urban environment.
- 5+ years' experience as a Resident Engineer
- Around 5 similar construction supervision project with similar role (Resident Engineer /Project Manager)
- Experience in Africa
- Proficiency with FIDIC conditions of contracts.
- Appropriate Civil Engineering Degree, preferably a Master's Degree.
