Centenary Bank, the leading Commercial Microfinance Bank in Uganda seeks to recruit suitably qualified, experienced and competent persons in the following fields;
Chief Manager Business Growth (1)
Reports to: General Manager Business Development & Marketing
Role: Market the Bank’s products and manage customer relationships through pro-active and consultative approaches with the aim of acquiring profitable new business through the creation, development and maintenance of high quality customer advisory relationships, as per the bank’s strategic plan, and customer service standards.
Key Result Areas
- Set targets and generate new business to achieve defined sales targets in liabilities and assets to grow market share in line with the banks strategic direction.
- Recommend changes required to meet target customers’ expectations whilst fully in compliance with Bank policies.
- Analyze and monitor market potential and trends, determine the value of existing and potential customers and provide integrated product solutions to particular customer needs and segments in line with the bank’s policies
- Design and implement techniques and processes aimed at capturing risks and likely returns to guide products development in the bank, as per the risk management guidelines and product development guidelines.
- Develop and maintain a robust and a loyal customer base through customer loyalty programmes and maintaining high standards of service as per bank policies
- Sell bank’s products in all sectors of the Ugandan market in line with the defined bank segments, set targets and bank’s strategic objectives
- Generate sales productivity reports to monitor, manage and improve sales performance for each segment portfolio as per set targets.
- In liaison with the Branch staff, develop guidelines to ensure continuing compliance with KYC and adherence to compliance risk Management policies.
- Develop and implement business strategies and value propositions per segment, activity plans, portfolio monitoring and growth.
- Develop strategic alliances with key business partners to Micro-finance, Agriculture, SME and Corporate industry for business sustain- ability.
- Responsible for growth of non-funded income in trade finance and Forex business.

Requirement:
- A Bachelors degree Honors Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Commerce, and other related disciplines.
- At least 6 years experience in business development, marketing and sales 3 of which at a managerial level in a large financial institution.
- Working Experience in SME or Corporate banking will be of added advantage
- Post graduate qualification's in marketing/ banking /Financial management added advantage
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of banking products' features.
- Knowledge of best banking practices. Ability to interpret customer requests and provide integrated product solutions to particular customer needs
- Pro- active selling and obtaining customer commitment to multiple financial solutions, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- An understanding of investment options in the economy.
- Business risk assessment experience Result oriented, a team player and self starter with ability to work under minimum supervision.
