Our client, one of the leading Microfinance Deposit Taking Institutions in Uganda, is looking for professionally confident, self-motivated, committed team players, to reinforce their capacity by filling the following vacant positions.
1. SENIOR MANAGER CREDIT PRODUCTS
Report to the Head of Operations and supervises Credit Product Managers. Specific responsibilities include:
• Coordinating, supervising and directing all activities related to credit extension administration and recovery in line with credit policies and procedures.
• Participating in the development of corporate strategies, plans and procedures; prepare the divisional budget and plans.
• Supervising all activities related to the processing of applications for facilities, management of portfolio and recovery of loans as per company guidelines.
• Ensuring proper processing and analysis of loan requests in accordance with the institution’s guidelines, and make recommendations to Management Credit Committee.
• Reviewing and evaluating loan applications for facilities from the branches for compliance with the credit policies and procedure and make appropriate recommendations to the Management Credit Committee.
• Authorizing the disbursement of funds, upon completion of the legal process of documentation.
• Work with Regional Managers and Product Managers to ensure that individual staff and annual corporate targets and objectives are achieved.
• Contributing to the corporate expansion goal by effectively managing the credit portfolio and canvass new business and clients.
Minimum Academic Qualifications and Experience:
• Should possess a Masters Degree in Business Administration, Statistics / Commerce, Finance, or in any other relevant / related field from a reputable institution. Professional qualification in ACCA/CPA.
• At least 4 years’ experience at a senior level.
• Candidates with direct microfinance and banking experience will be at an added advantage.

2. BRANCH ACCOUNTANTS
Report to the Branch Manager and supervise Cashiers and Customer Care Officers. Specific responsibilities include:
• Deputizing the Branch Manager.
• Book keeping and primary accounting records and petty cash imprest management;
• Filing and coding of all vouchers/documents as per chart of accounts, including proper verification of receipts and payments to ensure accuracy of information;
• Ensuring proper classification of transactions as assets, liabilities, income and expenses, and must check on all entries entered in the system; to ascertain their genuineness, accuracy and who authorized them;
• Preparing of monthly and yearly reports of all Income and Expenditure results, trial balance extraction, bank reconciliation and income statements;
• Participating in external and internal audit matters;
• Stock taking of assets and maintaining of asset register;
• Meeting reporting requirements (weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually) for both external and internal users;
• Monitoring the minimum and maximum cash levels on a day to day basis and;
• Handling any treasury related activities, and provide technical support in accounting for treasury related instruments and any other accounting requirements as deemed necessary.
• Ensuring 100% delivery of ATM cards to respective clients.
Minimum Academic Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s of Commerce/Statistics Degree (Accounting), BBA (Accounting) or in any other relevant / related field
• Should have at least 2 year’s working experience in an accounting related field.
• Computer literacy will be an added advantage.

3. CREDIT ADMINISTRATORS
Credit Administrators report to the Branch Manager and supervises Credit Officers. Specific responsibilities include:-
• Participating in setting loan targets for individual credit staff in the branch in accordance with the branch targets.
• Providing safe custody for the loan securities & files in line with the company’s guidelines.
• Verifying and ensure authenticity and completeness of all loan documents in line with the lending guidelines.
• Planning, organizing and documenting proceedings of the loan approval and recovery committee meetings in line with the company’s lending policies.
• Evaluating the performance of the loan portfolio and generate periodic reports in line with the company’s guidelines.
• Reviewing and resolving client queries and complaints in order to maintain quality service delivery in the department.
• Reviewing & evaluating performance management of subordinate staff. Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum Academic Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelors’ degree from reputable Institutions with good grades in Commerce, Economics, Microfinance, Development Studies, Business Studies, Accounting and Finance, Marketing, Financial Services, Business Computing, Business Statistics, Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management, Social Sciences, SWASA or Education.
• Should have at least 2 year’s working experience and above in Credit Administration from a financial institution.
Person Specification:
• Should be willing to work in any part of the country.

4. CREDIT OFFICERS INDIVIDUAL LENDING
The Credit Officers – Individual Lending report to the Credit Administrator and are responsible for recruiting of clients and visiting prospective clients’ homes and business to assess credit worthiness.
Specific responsibilities include:
• Marketing the Individual lending product.
• Client mobilization, sensitization and training.
• Preparation of credit applications for credit committees according to policy.
• Loan disbursement according to policy.
• Follow- up and recovery of loans according to policy.
• Ensuring proper filing of all Individual Lending documentation.
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Minimum Academic Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum of a Bachelors’ degree from a reputable Institution with good grades in Commerce, Economics, Microfinance, Development Studies, Business Studies, Accounting and Finance, Marketing, Financial Services, Business Computing, Business Statistics, Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management, Social Sciences, SWASA or Education, Adult & Community Education and Community Psychology.
• Candidates should have at least 1 years’ experience in related field. He/she should also possess 2 principle passes at A’ Level and credit passes in English and Mathematics at O’ Level.
5. CREDIT OFFICERS GROUP LENDING
The Credit Officers – Group Lending report to the Credit Administrator and are responsible for recruiting of clients and visiting prospective clients’ homes and business to assess credit worthiness.
Specific responsibilities include:
• Marketing the group lending product
• Client mobilization, sensitization and training
• Loan disbursement
• Following- up and recovery of loans
• Promptly posting all transactions made in a day
• Ensuring proper filing of all group Lending documentation
• Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Minimum Academic Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelors’ degree from a reputable Institution with good grades in Commerce, Economics, Microfinance, Development Studies, Business Studies, Accounting and Finance, Marketing, Financial Services, Business Computing, Business Statistics, Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management, Social Sciences, SWASA or Education.

6. CASHIERS
Report to the Branch Accountant. Specific responsibilities include:
• Taking deposits and paying customers across the counter and ensuring that all deposit and withdrawal transactions are handled with accuracy and according to laid down policies and procedures.
• Scrutinizing the details of each transaction to ensure that the Company is protected against fraudsters and money laundering.
• Exercising prudence and safeguarding cash and other valuable items/instruments such as cheques, controlled stationery, stamps etc, in his/her custody during the course of duty.
• Promptly posting all transactions made in a day.
Minimum Academic Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree from reputable Institutions with good grades in Commerce, Economics, Microfinance, Development Studies, Business Studies, Accounting and Finance, Marketing, Financial Services, Business Computing, Business Statistics, Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management, Social Sciences, SWASA or Education.
• Candidates should also possess 2 principle passes at A’ Level and credit passes in English and Mathematics at O’ Level.
Person Specification for positions 4, 5 & 6 above:
• Should not be more than 27 years of age.
• Should be willing to work in any part of the country.
• Should be fluent in commonly used local languages.

7. ICT SECURITY OFFICER
Report to the Head of ICT Specific responsibilities include:
• Designing, implementing, maintaining, and reporting on an appropriate systems security.
• Ensuring staff compliance with ICT security policy and standards.
• Recommending and advising on procurement of ICT requirements ranging from software to hardware and monitor usage by the system users.
• Facilitating the periodic revision of ICT security strategy, policies and standards as per the business requirements to ensure an up to-date business plan for continuity.
• Ensuring the help-desk functions meet the set call resolution targets.
• Conducting testing of the disaster recovery plan and participate in indecent responses, e.g. compliance of networks, servers and security events and.
• Preparing ICT notifications and alerts for sharing with all staff using ICT equipment and ensure ICT security and usage awareness information is disseminated to all staff.
• Ensuring monitoring, reviewing and maintenance of all ICT systems.
Minimum Academic Qualifications and Experience:
• Should possess a Bachelors degree in IT/Computer Science, Information Systems or in any other relevant/ related field from a recognized institution.
• Should also possess experience of at least two years in a related field with a focus on policy and security.
• Possession of IT security certifications such as CISSP/ GIAC/SSCP/ CISA and suitable CISCO certifications will be an added advantage.
Person Specifications:
• Should be a person of high integrity and confidentiality, proactive and self-driven.

8. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
Report to BD/PR/Marketing Manager. Specific responsibilities include:
• Assisting in generating marketing information for the purpose of developing appropriate marketing and business development strategies.
• Implementing the approved marketing plan and ensuring the achievement of marketing targets.
• Providing information and distributing promotional materials on products/services to potential customers.
• Identifying and recommending suitable sites for positioning advertisements, which can improve the Institution’s visibility.
• Assisting in identifying activities for participation and publicizing of social responsibilities.
• Constantly monitor developments in the financial sector, which may impact on the Institution’s operations and performance.
• Monitoring customer attitude and level of satisfaction with the service delivery.
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Minimum Academic Qualifications and Experience
• Should possess a Bachelors Degree in Statistics or Business Administration, Arts, Commerce, Economics, Social Sciences or in any other relevant/related field from a recognized institution.
• Experience of 1 year in marketing research.
• Experience in a marketing agency will be an added advantage.
Person Specifications
• Should be highly eloquent, creative and have high levels of confidentiality and integrity.
• Must possess good computer skills, high organizational skills with good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Should be self-confident, persistent, responsive and efficient.
• Should not be more than 28 years of age.
9. DEBT COLLECTION OFFICER
Report to the Senior Legal Officer. Specific responsibilities include:
• Ensuring the recovery of delinquent and written off loans.
• Participating in the development, and implementation of recovery policies and procedures and strategies.
• Keeping a record of all cases received and making follow up on the cases; and making periodic reports to the supervisor.
• Monitoring performance of each debtor and/or his/her guarantors to; investigating late payments, demanding payment or asking for the client formal written commitment to pay the outstanding amount, and/or inform them of the actions that PML may take failure to adhere to agreed terms.
• Participating in the training of staff in recovery techniques.
• Follow up on sale of collateral and generally ensuring that the loan recovery process is done in line with company policy.
• Ensuring that necessary orders/ warrants are obtained in order to attach assets where necessary, and liaise with the police to facilitate the prosecution of the defaulters.
Minimum Academic Qualifications and Experience
• Should possess a Diploma in Legal Practice from LDC or any other Law Enforcement field or in any other relevant / related field.
• 1 year working experience in debt collection or law enforcement.
Person Specifications
• Must have high levels of confidentiality and integrity
• Should be compliant, disciplined, efficient, self-driven and eager to learn.
• Must possess customer and business awareness skills, high organizational skills with good interpersonal and communication skills.
