Our Client, the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development(MLHHSD) with support from Development Partners including UK Department for International Development Agency (DFID), Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) and Danish International Development Agency (DAN IDA) has launched the Land Tenure Support Programme (LTSP) to address some of Land Administration Challenges in the Country. The Programme will take three years focusing on: (a) enhancing transparency and benefits of large scale land deals, (b) policy and institutional development, and (c) land tenure regularization. In order to achieve these goals, MLHHSD is seeking to recruit open-minded, self-driven, hardworking, self-motivating, results oriented individuals of high integrity and possess good interpersonal communication skills to play a critical role in supporting the Ministry in the achievement of its Vision and Mission.
In pursuit of these objectives, MLHHSD invites dynamic and innovative candidates to submit their applications for the following positions at the Land Tenure Support Programme (LTSP).
Communication Specialist( 1 post)
Reporting to the Programme Coordinator, the Communication Specialist will be responsible for the sensitization and awareness raising campaigns of the Programme at community and national levels. .
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with development of land training materials;
Support gathering, processing and publishing of data on large scale;
Establishing a communication strategy for publishing data and information on large scale land acquisitions;
Develop media strategies to promote and raise public awareness at national level of objectives activities and impact of Programme;
Create Programme literature and other forms of communication;
Copyedit, proofread, and revise communications;
Create and deliver press releases, media relations content, case studies, white papers, executive bios, Programme newsletter content, social media content, and speaking proposals;
Identify, develop and execute communications strategy for key media contacts and stakeholders references; and Manage information.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
A degree in Mass Communication;
Good understanding of land tenure and administrations;
At least 5 years of relevant experience;
Experience with community outreach Programme and public relations; and
Proven experience in helping development Programme to achieve tangible benefits; Fluency in Swahili and English.
