Position: Project Officer
Reporting to: Project Coordinator (Waterloo)
Location: Mara Region
Job Purpose:
The Project officer is responsible in assisting the project Coordinator for implementing structures and systems of the project, identify and share information and application of good practices for smooth and efficient development and management activities of the project to the achievement of intended results.
Key Tasks:
Coordinate implementation of project activities and achievement of results as specified in the APB
Plan, monitor and evaluate the work of Community Based Service Providers (CBSPs) and to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services
Ensure close collaboration and coordination with cooperating partners to guarantee smooth implementation of the project
Create awareness in the Community on the benefits of Sexual and Reproductive Health Services
Research and Evaluate the effectiveness of Family Life Education for improvement of the services
Supervise Peer counselors' activities, provide information, education and counseling to clients
Provision of activity reports, minutes of the 'meetings and financial reports on regular basis to relevant authorities
'Identify areas of good practice for sharing ,
Attending to any other duty as may from time to time be assigned by his superiors
Qualifications/Experience Requirements:
A successful candidate must possess a University Degree in Public health, Sociology, Community Development/Social work, or any other related field,
At least three (3) years experience working with Community Based Development Projects
Knowledge, Skills and Personal Attributes:
Managing complete life cycle from planning, executing, controlling to closing phases
Demonstrated understanding of social/cultural issues
Aptitude in common computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet browsers)
Knowledge of Sexual Reproductive Health and Family Planning
Fluency in Swahili and English(both spoken and written)
Ability to prioritize, direct, and complete work in a stressful environment with significant attention to detail
Ability to work as a team
Ability to travel up to 30%
