UMATI, a member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), is a leading non-profit Association providing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Information and services including Family Planning and HIV/AIDS in Tanzania.
The Association has a long history of leadership in SRH program in the country including pioneering in Family planning (FP) services, SRHR programs for young people, integrated clinic and Community based service delivery approaches. Re-Accredited by IPPF in' 2015, UMATI is a full member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and is governed by a well-established volunteer structure.
With the support of the Waterloo foundation, UMATI implements a 3-years project seeking to increase access to comprehensive Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) and Contraceptives services, information and education in identified four districts and selected eight wards within SIMIYU and MARA regions. The project objective is to increase contraceptive prevalence rate among women of reproductive age in Simiyu and Mara region through community based models outreaches, mobile services and
Community Based Service Providers. Service Providers will be capacitated through training on comprehensive Family Planning including Long Acting and Permanent Methods (LAPM) as well as training in provision of Youth Friendly Services (YFS) targeting Poor, Marginalised, Underserved, and Socially Excluded (PM USE) which will be provided in an integrated manner.

Position: Project Coordinator (Waterloo)
Reporting to: Director of Programs
Location: Dar es Salaam
Job Purpose:
Under the supervision of the Director of Programs, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for smooth and efficient planning, development and management activities of the project and achievement of intended results.
Key tasks:
Ensure planning, development, implementation and administration of the project with accountability for the overall delivery of results .
Participate in preparing and maintaining project plans, including documentation, budgets, implementation, training, and communication
Develop and maintain a detailed project schedule
Ensure timely and adequate reporting against the work plan, including providing timely and articulate progress reports
Ensure integrity of financial and administrative operations in the program area by oversight of financial and budgetary
aspects of the project
Analyze data obtained from client meetings and develop strategy for processes improvement
Routinely handle confidential correspondence, personnel and financial reports, and other information.
Schedule meetings, including site selection, travel arrangements, preparing meeting materials, presentation developing agendas, preparing minutes in support of .assigned projects, distributing meeting materials, and tracking meeting attendance,
Contribute to overall strategy and implementation of program activities
Develop and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues and donors
Support peer educator follow-up and supportive supervision to community health workers
Perform other related duties as required
Qualification, Experience Requirement
A successful candidate must possess a University Degree in public health, sociology, community development /social work or any of her related field,
At least three (3) years experience working with Community Based Development Projects
Knowledge, Skills and Personal Attributes:
Familiarity with global/domestic health and development approaches
Knowledge of Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) business development process activities
Analytical, strong decision making skills, sound judgment and problem solving abilities
Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize tasks and result -oriented approach
Possession of cultural awareness and sensitivity
Capacity to work under pressure, manage stress and adapt to rapidly evolving situations
Proficient in computer packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Graphics and Internet browsers
Ability to interact skillfully and diplomatically with numerous counterparts (including MoHSW, DHMT staff, NGOs, FBOs, and CBOs)
Ability to work as a team
Ability to travel up to 30%
