The candidate will be seconded within the Management Information Systems and Research unit of the Reproductive and Child Health Section of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.
The position will be the primary in-country focal point of efforts to improve the collection, reporting, and use of data for monitoring progress toward the achievement of the national family planning program and FP2020 goals. This will include regularly monitoring current data collection systems to produce and reporting on relevant family planning data, as well as performing data quality checks and analysis that encourages the use of data for strategic decision-making.
Position Requirements:
• A minimum of a Bachelors-level degree in demographics, public health, statistics, social sciences, or a related field and 4 years of relevant work experience.
• A minimum of 5 years direct work experience in monitoring and evaluation for the health sector.
• Proven expertise in quantitative qualitative methodologies, operations research, Health Management Information Systems, reporting, data quality assessments, data analysis, and presentation.
• Demonstrated strong management, coordination, teamwork, and planning skills, with proven ability to function effectively with multiple counterparts in both the public and NGO sectors.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and facilitate learning from M&E findings and implementation teams and other relevant stakeholders.
• Strong verbal and written English and Swahili communications skills.
