BACKGROUND
The Nelson Mandela African Institution Science and Technology (NM-AIST) has been established under Tanzania’s Universities Act No. 7 of 2005, and as part of a network of African Institutions of Science and Technology (AISTs) in Sub-Saharan Africa. The NM-AIST envisions becoming a World-Class Institution of Higher Learning dedicated to the pursuit and promotion of excellence in science and engineering, and their applications for economic growth and sustainable development in Africa. The NM-AIST endeavors to deliver and promote high quality and internationally competitive teaching and learning, research and innovation, and public service in science, engineering and technology leveraging on entrepreneurship for enhanced value addition to people and natural resources, with a view to stimulating, catalyzing and promoting economic growth and sustainable development in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has granted NM-AIST employment permits Ref. No. BC.10/87/012/J/88 and Ref. No.BC.10/87/012/J/84 to employ 18 staff.
Clinical Officer I - 1 POSITION
Minimum Entry Qualifications and Experience:
Holder of Diploma in Clinical Medicine and must have been registered with Tanganyika Medical Board (under Cap 409) with at least three years working experience in a similar position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Practices general medicine and pediatrics
• Assists in surgical procedure
• Attends to Obstetrics and Gynaecological cases
• Administers preventive Medicine
• Attends general outpatient clinics
• Performs any other Duties and Responsibilities which may be assigned by one’s reporting
Salary Scale - PMGSS 9
