AAR Insurance (Tanzania) Limited is a subsidiary of AAR Holdings which is the largest and most successful private Insurance company in East Africa. In Tanzania its Head Office is in Dar es Salaam and branches are in Arusha and Mwanza. In the with our corporate objective of constantly reviewing and enhancing our key performance areas we wish to engage the following person: Senior Internal Auditor

Qualifications:

Qualification and Experience;
The successful candidate will possess the following minimum qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in Accounting; Finance; Computer science/IT; Insurance or equivalent.
• Must have professional qualification (CPA/CIA/ACCA or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years experience in internal and/or external audit.
• Proven knowledge of auditing standards and related procedures, laws, rules and regulations.
• High attention to detail, strong analytical skills and sound independent judgment coupled with ability to manipulate data and to compile detailed and quality report.
• Excellent written/verbal communication, internal and relationship building skills

• Advanced computer skills on MS Office , understanding of audit and accounting software will be added advantage.
• Experience in financial services industry/sector will be an added advantage


Purpose of the Position:
Responsible for the timely execution of risk-based internal audits and Consultancy in accordance with polices and applicable standards
The Successful candidate will be based in Dar Es Salaam and will report to INTERNAL AUDIT MANAGER.


Duties and Responsibilities:
• Conduct risk assessment and participate in establishment of internal audit scope and annual plans;
• Prepare audit engagement /project plans and programs;
• Perform and control the full audit cycles including risk management and control over operations effectiveness, financial reliability and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations

• Prepare audit findings memorandum and draft reports that effect audits result’s and documented processes;
• Identity loopholes and recommend risk aversion measures and cost savings.
• Conduct follow up audits to monitor management’s interventions

• Act as an objective source of independent advice to ensure validity, legality and goal achievement through participation in carrying consultancy services/projects.
• Engage to continuous knowledge development regarding sectors rules, regulations , best practices, tools, techniques and performance standards

• Other duties assigned as needed
