The Arusha Technical College (ATC) is an autonomous institution established by the Government Notice No. 78 of 30th March 2007 that replaced the then Technical College Arusha that existed since 1978. The vision of ATC is to be a centre of excellence in training, research and consultancy in science and technology in Africa by 2020. In order to fulfill its functions properly, the College is seeking to recruit qualified and experienced Tanzanians to fill in the following vacancies:
13.1 ASSISTANT LECTURER – 14 POSTS (RE-ADVERTISED).
13.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Teaches up to NTA level 8 (Bachelors Degree);
• Prepares learning resources for tutorial exercises;
• Conducts research, seminars and case studies;
• Carries out consultancy and community services under supervision;
• Supervises students project;
• Prepares teaching manual; and
• Performs any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
13.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: 13.1.2.1 CIVIL ENGINEERING – 4 POSTS
• Masters’ degree of at least GPA 3.5 in a relevant field.
• Specialization:
(i) Irrigation Engineering or Water resources or Hydrology Engineering (1 Post),
(ii) (ii) Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (1 Post),
(iii) (iii) Land Survey or Geomatics (1 Post),
(iv) (iv) Structural Engineering (1 Post).
13.1.2.2 AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEERING – 2 POSTS
• Masters’ degree of at least GPA 3.5 in a relevant field.
• Specialization:
(i) Automotive or Automobile Engineering (1 Post),
(ii) Automotive Electronics Engineering (1 Post).
13.1.2.3 MECHANICAL ENGINEERING – 1 POST
• Masters’ degree of at least GPA 3.5 in a relevant field.
• Specialization:
(i) Mechatronics or Industrial Automation or Pneumatics or Hydraulic Technology (1 Post)
13.1.2.4 TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING – 2 POSTS
Masters’ degree of at least GPA 3.5 in a relevant field.
Specialization:
(i) Geotechnical Engineering or Materials or Highway Engineering or Land Survey or Geomatics (2 Posts)
13.1.2.5 GENERAL STUDIES DEPARTMENT– 3 POSTS

• Communication Skills or Linguistics (English) (2 Posts),

13.1.2.6 ICT- DEPARTMENT – 2 POST
• Masters’ degree of at least GPA 3.5 in a relevant field.

13.2 TUTORIAL ASSISTANT – 8 POSTS (RE-ADVERTISED).
13.2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Teaching up to NTA level 7 (Higher Diploma);
• Assists in conducting tutorial and practical exercises for students under close
• supervision;
• Prepares learning resources for tutorial exercises;
• Assists in conducting research under close supervision;
• Carries out consultancy and community services under close supervision; and
Performs any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
13.2.1.1 AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEERING – 3 POST
• Bachelor’s degree of at least GPA 3.5 in relevant field.

13.2.1.2 TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING – 1 POST
Bachelor’s degree of at least GPA 3.5 in relevant field.

(i) Airport or Railway or Highway Engineering or Land Surveyor or Geomatics (1 POST)
13.2.1.3 GENERAL STUDIES DEPARTMENT– 1 POST
Bachelor’s degree of at least GPA 3.5 in relevant field.
Specialization:
(i) B.Sc (Chemistry) (1 POST)
13.2.1.4 MECHANICAL ENGINEERING – 1 POST
Bachelor’s degree of at least GPA 3.5 in relevant field.

Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Automation (1 POST)
13.2.1.5 ICT- DEPARTMENT – 2 POSTS

Programming in: (PHP/Java/C/C++/VB/Net) or Linux or Ms Windows or Server

13.3.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Teaches up to NTA level 7 and may assist teaching in higher NTA levels;
• Coordinates teaching activities and prepares learning resources;
• Conducts research and consultancy projects;
• Develops and reviews curricula;
• Supervises students projects and research works up to NTA level 8;
• Supervises and assists junior teaching staff;
• Assumes leadership roles; and
• Performs any other duties as assigned by supervisors.
13.3.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 13.3.2.1 CIVIL ENGINEERING – 3 POSTS
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of at least GPA 3.5 in relevant field.
• Specialization:
(i) Architecture (1 POST),
(ii) Land Survey and Geomatics (1 POST),
(iii) Agronomy (1 POST).
• At least five (5) years working experience.
13.3.2.2 ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING – 2 POST
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of at least GPA 3.5 in relevant field.
Specialization:
(i) Electrical Engineering (2 POST),
13.3.2.3 ELECTRONICS & TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERING - 1 POST
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of at least GPA 3.5 in relevant field.
