Description

Within Tax, our Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) group provides tax consulting services for acquisitions, disposals and other transaction-related services such as restructurings or re-financings to financial and strategic buyers and sellers.

The services this group typically provides include tax structuring, due diligence, negotiation support on tax points, acquisitions/disposals, strategy formulations, review of legal documents from a tax perspective, providing tax input for financial modelling and other related project management/analysis (such as funds flow for completion).

Thorough knowledge of M&A practices with respect of the tax aspects of due diligence, planning, structuring and executions transactions of all sizes; analysing proposed transactions for unusual tax risks or undetermined tax benefits; and advising clients on tax efficient restructurings, spins offs and strategy formulation.

Qualifications / Skills

• Comprehensive technical skills – including researching and writing reports, memos and tax opinions aswell as ability to critically review input/reports that are received from tax teams during the course of the project. Considerable project management experience on projects involving multiple teams and jurisdictions. This includes the management of resource requirements, project workflow, budget, billing, collections and preparing and/or coordinating reports.

• Considerable experience as a team leader: supervising teams to create an atmosphere of trust;

• Soaching staff including providing timely meaningful written and verbal feedback;
• Minimum number of years experience required: 5 years;
• Professional qualified accountant / Tax advisor.
