Description
The candidate should have in depth technical accounting skills with regards treasury products, their practical applications and consequent financial measurement and reporting under an internationally recognised accounting framework such as IFRS or US GAAP. This is an opportunity for a self motivated person to build up their profile across the region’s most significant financial institutions and largest trading entities. The position will provide an opportunity for the right candidate to build a team along with their career as they develop their service offering and clients. Qualifications / Skills
- Internationally recognized accounting qualification (CA, ACA, CPA etc)
- University Degree educated
- Specialist treasury accounting and instrument valuation qualifications such as ACT would be advantageous
- Minimum years of work experience: 8
Specific technical expertise: In depth understanding of the application of IAS 39, IFRS 7 and IFRS 9 along with related valuation and accounting expertise. A thorough understanding of the requirements of hedge accounting is also required.
Specific skills required:
- Accounting for financial instruments
- Valuation of financial instruments
- Hedge accounting
- Financial statement disclosure requirements including risk management
- English speaking
Specific competencies: Ability to develop business and grow a team of professionals to service the market core competencies should include:
- An ability to communicate clearly and effectively;
- A ability to develop and manage professional relationships;
- An ability to train and develop staff such that they reach their potential abilities; and
