A
USAID contractor is recruiting a project development officer for a
project focused on civic education, citizen engagement and community
strengthening.

The project development
officer will be based in Nairobi and will assist in activities focused
on youth empowerment in Eastleigh and surroundings.
The PDO is responsible for networking and identification of possible activities and local partners in the project area.
All candidates must speak and write fluent Somali, Swahili and English.
At least three years of
relevant experience in urban settings in East Africa, preferably in
Kenya, in the design and management of USAID or other donor-funded
programs focused on youth development and community engagement is
required.
Candidates must have a
solid understanding of Somali culture and customs, and must demonstrate
proficiency in basic computer applications including Microsoft Word and
Excel.
