MorFiss Foundation Web Designer Volunteer

The goal of the Rise Up Rise Out of Poverty Program is to strengthen the livelihoods of women in Haiti, focusing more on those living in rural areas. MorFiss aims to help women gain economic autonomy through a holistic approach, ensuring that all aspects of a woman's need are taking into consideration.The overall objective of the intervention is to increase the economic and social empowerment of women in Lavanneau and La Montagne and in order to do so, develop and improve the education and entrepreneurial skills that will build both competence and confidence will enable women to contribute to representation of the interests of women and children and initiate chain of influence through the community structures from community to national level.

Responsibilities: The Web Designer will be responsible for improving the design and functionality of the existing MorFiss Foundation website: http://www.morfissfoundation.org. When first developed, the purpose of the website was to provide basic information about the organization and its focus. Now that the organization has acquired many data, there is an immediate need to upgrade the website to appropriately reflect the interventions and partnership in Haiti.

The Volunteer, Web Designer is a remote volunteer position and may work from any location.

Specific responsibilities of the Web Designer will include the following:

•Improve the current design and graphics of the web pages.
•Improve search engine optimization.
•Improve functionality of the website and ability to communicate new information and updates to the public.
•Meet expectations and deliverables on time and in high quality.
•Further develop the website in a clean, well structured, easily maintainable format.

Qualifications:

•Strong Proficiency in Word Press.
•Experience in developing websites and/or web applications.
•Experience in development of HTML and graphics creation with Photoshop, Illustrator, (Adobe Creative Suite).
•Demonstrates creative and technical skills.
•Excellent written and oral communication skills.
