The objective of the University College is to play a leading role in the development and expansion of opportunities for higher education and research in agriculture, agribusiness, forestry, water and land management, biological & physical sciences.
The College seeks to develop into a centre of excellence for learning and research in agriculture and farming systems within and outside Kenya.
The University College now wishes to fill the following positions with qualified and experienced staff ready to spearhead the new College towards the attainment of the above objectives.
Senior Library Assistant
Applicants must be holders of Bachelors degree in Library and Information studies with at least three (3) years of experience from a busy academic library.
Applicants must be computer literate and knowledgeable in cataloguing, classification, and library e-resource and library automation.
Library Assistant
Applicants must be holders of Diploma in Library and Information studies with at least three (3) years experience in a busy academic Library.
Applicants must also be computer literate and knowledgeable in cataloguing, classification library e-resource
Driver
Applicants must possess KCE/KCSE/EACE grade C- or equivalent. He/she must possess Driving License Class ABCE, PSV license and a Certificate of Good Conduct.
They must have at least five (5) years accident free continuous driving.
They must have written and spoken proficiency in English and Kiswahili languages.
Those who have sat and passed Practical Grade Test for Drivers conducted by the respective Ministry/ Department and also poses a driver mechanic certificate having passed grade test III will have an added advantage.
Assistant Transport Officer
Applicants must be holders of a diploma in Automotive/ Mechanical Engineering or Transport Management.
They should have four (4) years working experience in an institution of higher learning or its equivalent and must have a thorough knowledge of transport system management and operations.
They also must possess a valid driving license and a certificate of good conduct.
Security Officer
Applicants should posses a minimum of KCSE/KCE/EACE academic certificates or its equivalent and must have attained the rank of Inspector of Police or Captain in the Armed Forces, or equivalent.
They should have worked with any of the disciplined forces and discharged honourably.
Applicants who are holders of a degree in criminology or its equivalent from a recognized institution or Diploma/higher Diploma and requisite experience and also those who have a working experience at a university setting will have an added advantage.
Applicants should have experience in incident reporting, investigation and follow up skills as well as skills in first aid and occupational safety/disaster management procedures.
They also must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work as a team, be of high integrity and with ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
They must possess current certificate of good conduct and driving license.
Security Guards
Applicants must be holders of KCE Division IV or KCSE mean grade D and above and must have a Discharge Certificate from the armed forces or reputable security firm. A Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya Police is a must.
Student Counselor
Applicants must be holders of at least a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology or equivalent and must have excellent guiding, counseling and problem-solving skills.
Those with a relevant first degree and at least five (5) years post-qualification related work experience at a university setting or other public institutions will also be considered.
Applicants with training or education background and experience in designing and conducting training programs for the holistic development of youth will have an added advantage.
Applicants are expected to be computer literate with good written, and oral communication and interpersonal communication among others.
Artisan – Welding
Applicants must possess a good KCSE academic certificate or equivalent. They must have a GTT II, or intermediate proficiency of Craft I certificate with at least three (3) years experience as a welder in an institution or busy organization.
Artisan – Electrician
Applicants should be holders of a Government Trade Test grade II in wiring and electrical installation. They should have scored at least a C- or Equivalent at KCSE with three (3) years relevant working experience in a busy organization.
Those with practical Knowledge in building, wiring and electrical maintenance works will have an added advantage.
Registry Supervisor
Applicants must be holders of either a bachelors degree in archives and records management or higher diploma in the same or related field and at least five (5) years relevant experience in a large institution, three (3) of which must be as assistant supervisor or senior registry clerk.
Applicants are expected to be proficient in working in a computerized records management system, data storage systems and be familiar with legislation on records and archiving.
The successful candidate will be expected to provide leadership for the University’s document management system and supervise other staff under him/her.
Registry Clerk
Applicant must possess a certificate in records management and achieves studies or equivalent from a reputable institution.
They should also have a good KCSE/KCE/EACE certificate of mean grade C plain or equivalent.
Applicants should have prior knowledge of filling and records keeping and should have at least two (2) years experience from a busy institution.
Assistant Games Tutor
Applicants must have a Bachelor degree in Physical Education or Sports Science or Leisure recreation from a recognized institution.
They must have at least three (3) years post qualification work experience at an institution of higher learning.
They should have knowledge of coaching and training in wide range of sports disciplines.
Cleaners/Messengers
Applicants’ must possess good KCSE/KCE/EACE with a mean grade of C- (minus). Those who have worked for the same position for more than three (3) years in a busy organization will have an added advantage.
Clerk Of Works
Applicants must have Higher National Diploma/Diploma in Civil Engineering or Building Construction, or equivalent from a recognized institution.
They have at least 5 years experience in the building and construction industry and must be competent in IT.
Data Entry Clerk
Applicants should have a Diploma in relevant field, or KCSE/KCE/EACE certificate plus Intermediate professional certificate e.g. CPS I, CPA1, Information Technology/Science and at least three (3) years experience in clerical service or equivalent.
They should also be competent in IT.
Technologists
Applicants must be holders of at least a Bachelor’s degree either in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Agriculture or Agricultural related disciplines.
Those with relevant Ordinary Diploma or Higher National Diploma and at least six (6) or three (3) years, respectively of related work experience at a university setting or other public institutions will also be considered.
Applicants must be computer literate.
Experience of working in teaching department at a university will be an added advantage.
