ALTERFIN is a cooperative society established under Belgian law in 1994. Alterfin’s founding shareholders are non-governmental development organisations and banks. Today, private shareholders hold over 75% of Alterfin’s capital. Alterfin finances micro-finance institutions, smallholders’ organisations and their companies linked to the fair trade sector. Currently, Alterfin manages credit portfolios with a combined value of over 55 million USD. Alterfin is opening a vacancy for a Credit Manager at its head office in Brussels.

Credit Manager Africa

This position involves responsibility for the management of loans to specific partners (clients) in Africa.

Your main job responsibilities will include:
• Prospecting partners (clients) in Africa
• Carry out financial and social due diligence visits of the partners
• Drawing up the credit file
• Presenting the credit file to the Credit Committee
• Preparing all legal documents to facilitate disbursement
• Monitoring partners and their loans
• Managing partner data and reports

Professional Profile : 
You are one of those gifted individuals who combine financial and technical expertise with a strong commitment to equitable development.
You are adaptable and will integrate into a tightly-knit international team. 
You hold a university degree or equivalent in financial management, economics, law or other relevant field and have well-proven experience of credit-management. 
You have knowledge of microfinance and value chain finance. 
You have expertise in the analysis of social and financial performance and are fluent in French and English. Knowledge of Portuguese and/or Dutch is an advantage. 
You are prepared to travel regularly in Africa.
