ABOUT THE JOB:
FINCA International is seeking a Transformations, Equity, Mergers and Acquisitions Volunteer - Summer 2015. S/he will be responsible for providing banking and microfinance market and financial analysis in key countries where organization is transforming into a deposit-taking bank or institution.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Identify and evaluate merger and acquisition opportunities, including analysis via key performance and financial indicators;
- Assist with internal corporate governance activities of key organization's subsidiaries;
- Contribute to an ongoing study of subsidiary regulated institutions management best practices (including credit, market, and operational risk management).
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, International Relations, or a related field;
- Coursework in: Finance, International Development, Financial Analysis;
- Background in financial analysis (financial institutions preferred);
- Knowledge of financial products and services with relevant professional experience;
- Ability to take initiative and work independently;
- International experience is beneficial;
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and under time pressure;
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English required, second language (Spanish or Russian) desirable;
- Advanced computer skills (Excel and PowerPoint required);
- Financial modelling skills;
- Strong research and analysis skills;
- Exceptional financial analysis skills;
- Excellent communication (writing and presentation) skills.
