PwC’s PRTM Management Consulting has created competitive advantage for its clients by changing the way companies operate. Its management consultants work with senior executives, and operational leads, to develop and implement operational strategies that deliver breakthrough results. Among other things, the firm is a global leader in operational strategy, supply chain, product and service innovation, and customer value management. In order to fortify its current offering, PwC’s PRTM Management Consulting is looking to hire a Manager for its Construction and Real Estate group.
The Manager will assist Senior Managers and the Director to build and run the Construction and Real Estate group, leveraging PwC’s network, and available consultants who have previously worked in construction and real estate. As a member of this practice area, he/she will be required to provide input on the annual business plan, and assist in delivering to it. His role will include assisting in – hiring the appropriate team of consultants, identifying potential clients, creating a service offering, and selling and delivering engagements in the practice. He/she will report to the Director, Real Estate and Construction, and manage 1-2 consultants.
Responsibilities
- The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Meaningfully support the effort to stand-up, manage and motivate the Real Estate and Construction team
- Assist in identifying a list of potential clients in the Middle East, with a focus to create a few key platform accounts
- Assist the Construction and Real Estate team to construct an offering for the group, and take it to market
- Assist in efforts to create IP and an offering for the group
- Successfully plan, manage and deliver engagements
- Assist in gathering market intelligence
- Manage consultants in the delivery of projects and non-project related tasks
- Drive other CIPS-wide initiatives, as required
Qualifications / Skills
- The ideal candidate will have +8/10 years in real estate and/or construction and be intimately familiar with the industry in the Middle East, including players, management, challenges and trends. Aside from industry experience, prior investment banking, consulting or private equity experience will be viewed favourably.
- The ideal candidate will have a Masters degree in Real Estate or an MBA or equivalent post-graduate degree from a top-school. He will be a strong leader, who demonstrates business acumen, and who can confidently manage PwC consultants and clients.
- Preferably, a Chartered Engineer or PMP professional, the candidate should demonstrate strong international exposure and a deep understanding of the entire real estate and construction value chain. The preferable candidate would have worked in engineering design, construction, operations, construction management and project management. Additionally, he/she would understand risk, cost and quality management.
- He/she would demonstrate experience in contract administration, claims management, and dispute resolution, as they relate to large-scale and complex projects involving numerous parties. The candidate would also have a keen understanding of best practices and preferred IT systems and organization structures used by leading players in the industry.
