Chemonics in South Sudan Technical specialists


Chemonics seeks technical specialists for the anticipated five-year USAID-funded South Sudan Safe Learning Environments. The project aims to increase equitable education services for children, promote stability, and strengthen the quality and management of the education system. The technical specialists must be willing to travel throughout South Sudan. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world. We are seeking the following long-term positions:
Alternative education specialist(s):
• Degree in international education, or closely related field required
• Experience in education in emergencies, informal and rural education systems teacher training, and education management
• Experience coordinating and liaising with senior government officials, donors, and other key stakeholders in the education sector
• Knowledge and extensive experience with USAID education programs
• Experience in fragile and conflict-affected states and/or experience in South Sudan and/or East Africa
• Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
• English fluency required
Psychosocial support specialist:
• Degree in psychology, behavioral sciences, social work, or closely related field required
• Ten years of demonstrated management experience on donor-funded projects
• Expertise in education, vulnerable populations, refugees, displaced persons, and community reintegration
• Experience coordinating and liaising with senior government officials, donors, and other key stakeholders in the education sector
• Experience in managing multiple teams in various locations
• Experience in fragile and conflict affected states and/or experience in South Sudan and/or East Africa
• Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
• English fluency required
Community mobilization specialist(s):
• Degree in management, education, communications, or closely related field required
• Ten years of professional experience required in areas including community development planning, public outreach and analysis of social issues, gender assessments, and community-awareness programs
• Experience in education sector preferred
• Experience in fragile and conflict affected states and/or experience in South Sudan and/or East Africa
• Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
• English fluency required
Rural infrastructure specialist:
• Degree in engineering, or closely related field required
• Ten years of demonstrated management experience on donor-funded projects
• Experience coordinating and liaising with senior government officials, donors, and other key stakeholders in the land, environment, agriculture, and associated sectors
• Experience in managing multiple teams in various locations
• Experience in fragile and conflict affected states and/or experience in South Sudan and/or East Africa
• Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
• English fluency required
