Senior Software Engineer (Java Track)

We are looking for talented Software Engineers to join the Metafour's Logistics Development team in Dhaka, helping to bring a growing range of products to our global customers. The role involves enhancing our flagship product NetCourier v6 and to design and develop NetCourier v7.

We are looking for someone with good experience in software development processes, Agile methodologies and OOP. Knowledge of Test Driven Development, Unit testing and Regression testing are absolute must.

Responsibilities

• You will report directly to a Director with a dotted line to the Chief Operating Officer.
• You must be self-motivated, able to work to tight deadlines and unsupervised.
• You will be responsible for delivering software applications meeting quality targets.

Experience

• You must have experience in software design as well as development and be able to convert high level customer requirements into detailed designs and then develop the product.
• You must have good understanding of software development life cycle, object-oriented programming and design patterns including MVC.
• Solid knowledge and hand-on experience in Java, Java EE Web Tier and Web Services technologies.
• Good knowledge of databases, SQL and normalisation. Understanding "EXPLAIN" or "ANALYZE" and the workings of a database and its indexes is a desirable skill.
• Our business is online and you will need to understand and have experience of working with contemporary web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• If you write well structured JavaScript – and are familiar with the jQuery framework that would be a real bonus.
• You should be comfortable in a Unix environment.
• Fluency in spoken and written English will be highly appreciated.

• Graduate in any discipline with Software Engineering experience.

• Salary range Taka 45,000 – 75000; depending on the level of education, knowledge, skill, and experience
