Komo Learning Centres (KLC), http://www.komolearningcentres.org/, is a US-based, non-profit organization that provides funds and technical assistance to a community in Uganda for Education, Food Security, Health, and Livelihoods programs.
We partner closely with the Mpoma Community HIV/AIDS Alliance, a Ugandan non-profit, to implement these activities. We are in the planning process of scaling up our existing programs, opening a health clinic, and replicating our model in other communities.
We are looking for an OPERATIONS MANAGER to oversee our programs on the ground in Uganda. The Operations Manager will oversee, implement, and monitor KLC-financed initiatives including:
- Oversee construction, registration & opening of a health clinic
- Assist the clinic in developing systems for procurement, inventory management, patient records, fee-for-service, and human resource management
- Build connections & networks to enhance clinic resources and impact
- Coordinate medical outreach activities
- Build capacity of local organizations in administrative tasks such as accounting, budgeting, IT, etc.
- Monitor progress of the KLC sponsorship program, Mpoma's agricultural initiative and Johnson Nkosi Memorial Primary School
- Manage expatriate & Ugandan volunteers
Qualifications:
- Prior experience working in the developing world, preferably in Africa, managing projects and people
- Passion for working in developing countries, especially Sub-Saharan Africa
- Ability to work independently
- Entrepreneurial spirit
- Masters' degree in Public Administration, Public Health, Development Studies or another relevant field preferred
