Job Summary
Cardno Emerging Markets is pursuing this DfID funded East and Southern Africa Staple Food Markets Programme.
The overall goal of the Programme is the improved functioning of national and regional staple food market systems. The outcome will be increased regional trade in food, and a greater number of people benefitting from participation in national and cross-border value chains. Targeted interventions in the areas of storage, inputs and service markets, information and coordination mechanisms, and policy and regulation will be deployed with the aim to get more people trading in regional staple food markets and improve market functioning.
Expected start date: mid-February 2013. Long term input: 60 months

Key Responsibilities
Cardno Emerging Markets is looking for experts for the Challenge Fund Expert position with the following qualifications and expertise:
- Degree in financial management or accounting;
- Relevant experience (preferably a minimum of 5 years) in financial management;
- Experience in the management and monitoring of Challenge Funds;
- Familiarity with DFID financial and fund management policies and procedures would be preferred
- Experience working on multi-country programmes;
- Ability to work with flexibility, efficiency, enthusiasm, and diplomacy;
- Relevant experience in East and Southern Africa region over the past five years;
- Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills in English.
