Baseline Survey Of European Union Funded EIDHR Country Based Support Scheme Kenya: Turkana Community Engagement in Democratic Reforms
- Background OXFAM is an international organisation working with others to overcome poverty and suffering. OXFAM has been working in Kenya since 1963 working in long term development and humanitarian response in collaboration with various local and international organisations. Oxfam and its partners in Turkana are implementing EIDHR Country Based Support Scheme Kenya titled Turkana Community Engagement in Democratic Reforms. The programme will run from 2012-2014.
- Project Summary In partnership with Lokichogio Oropoi & Kakuma Development Organisation (LOKADO) the grant is for the contribution to the governance systems in Kenya’s Turkana County. The project will cover the entire Turkana County and benefit approximately 600,000 people through Policy Research, Capacity building Trainings, Civic education on the constitution, Mobilization of Citizen Participation forum, social audits and advocacy and awareness creation, activities.
- Purpose The purpose of this baseline survey is to carry out an assessment of the benchmarks for evaluating impact of the project by providing accurate information in the field to compare with at the end of the project. The baseline survey process MUST collect and provide relevant and reliable current data against ALL key performance indicators. This is essential to ensure a proper monitoring and tracking of the results of the project as well as a relevant evaluation and comparison with information gathered periodically during project implementation.
