HOURS: FULL TIME 40 HOURS PER WEEK

SALARY: FSN-7 (USD 6,212 to USD 11,180 per annum) depending on the candidate's earning history, qualifications and experience. This position may initially be filled at a trainee level which is equivalent to FSN-6 (USD 4,886 to USD 8,798 per annum).
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The basic function of this position is to provide administrative and technical support critical to USAID/Ethiopia’s Office of Democracy and Governance (DG) team based in Addis Ababa. The DG office focuses on good governance and conflict prevention programming. The Program Management Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative and technical support to the DG office. Technically, the incumbent participates in the development of DG program design, strategy development, PMP, annual report, etc. The incumbent assists the DG staff as needed, in their duties and responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: In order to qualify, the applicant must possess the following:
EDUCATION: Diploma in management, economics, and/or social sciences, is required. Work experience may be substituted.
EXPERIENCE: At least five years progressive experience in program management assistance functions, especially in USAID. Knowledge of development programming terms and implementation, Ethiopian development challenges, USAID programs and priorities desirable.
LANGUAGE: Level IV (fluent) in English and Amharic.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: The incumbent for this position should have sound knowledge of office practice and basic filing systems and should be able to maintain the high level of confidentiality required by the position. Understanding basic development terminology and knowledge of USAID administrative and technical requirements is desirable. Strong computer skills’ including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is desirable. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Incumbent should be a self-starter with strong organizational skills.
