CARE is seeking an experience
Puntland Education Project Coordinator to provide overall strategic
leadership and direction for a three-year EC-funded project
‘Waxbarashada waa Iftiin’ under the Urban Youth program in Puntland.
The incumbent will manage a consortium comprising CARE, Save the
children, ADRA and VU Amsterdam University to deliver the project. S/he
will work very closely with the ministry of Education in Puntland and
the consortium partners and liaising with other key project stakeholders
to deliver this highly complex project. S/he will also be responsible
for the consortium management, reporting to the donor, contract and
grant management.

•Coordinate monitoring and reporting
Required Skills:
•Bachelor's degree in Education, Social sciences and other related field
•Minimum of five years experience working in the region and a good understanding of sound programming principles
•At least 6 years experience in education programming, with a minimum 4 years in management positions
•Experience in working in, preferably leading a consortium
•Demonstrated experience in capacity building of Government ministry of education, Policy influence, and experience of Sector Wide Approach (SWA) in Education and managing institutional development
•Knowledge of EC programmatic and financial regulations is desirable
•Experience in managing and mentoring staff and promoting teamwork
•Good interpersonal and cross-cultural skills
•Willingness and experience to work independently in politically unstable security situations in security sensitive areas.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desired Skills:
•Post graduate degree in Education Management.
•7 years experience working in the education sector in the region.
•Somali language and knowledge of Somalia, its’ culture and political background
