You will be part of and in charge of a highly qualified multidisciplinary team of engineers, economists, environmental and institutional development experts that together will provide professional support within the urban water and wastewater sectors.
We offer a very exciting job with professional and personal challenges, and we expect you will be based in Zambia for a long-term period (4 years). You will come to work in close cooperation with our managing Director in Zambia, our Head Quarter Project Director, and not least all relevant Governmental entities, at central and provincial level.
The projects we are pursuing will cover planning and design as well as construction supervision of urban water infrastructure. Furthermore, institutional strengthening of the concerned utility organisations will also form an important component of the project packages. We anticipate a start of the first assignment around February/March 2013
Desired Skills & Experience
- A university degree in relevant professional fields, such as water sector engineering and/or utility management.
- High degree of communication and strong ability to motivate international and local/regional staff, and coordinate work processes among staff and counterparts.
- Strong technical knowledge and experience on key urban water sector issues, which will be required for providing high level advice and guidance on planning, design and implementation issues in order to safeguard the planned huge investments.
- Experiences with utility management and related institutional and capacity development programmes of key staff.
- Minimum 15 years' experience from working in the water sector and at least 5 years working experience in developing countries with a strong preference for Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Good communication, IT and writing skills, and fluency in English is mandatory.
